By the way, YouTube "He Chose The Cross", the song.
Post-HSC has been hectic, I think I've stayed home for the whole day only for a week in total.
So I went to
Nelson Bay Schoolies (EPIC. Best week ever) (8-player haloo?? dominic decoco, duh waiterb0dee, etc.)
Formal/poker at Murphy's hotel room after/Mikey's house the next day
Mikey's house twice to play table tennis. The discussion was a bonus perk, table tennis was the main reason@!!
School to hand in HouseParty notes and raffles (which I forgot to bring so now I still have them)
Alan's house a few times to practice for HP
Gene's Bday (8-player haloREACH)
HouseParty2010 (which was actually my first HP but w/e it was cool)
And working at my parents' shop most of the time.
Been to UNSW, UWS interviews, UNCLE tomorrow.
Started piano again. Have yet to start guitar lessons.
Starting tutoring after my UNCLE interview.
HouseParty2010. I think Lily&Elaine are pretty pro lol. Pro impro skills.
It was a really spiritually refreshing experience. I can't say it has been that fun, but it was fun enough- around the same as a biv? But the main thing is, it was very inspiring and renewing. I feel really bad about actually having lost my bible and not being able to bring it. I actually haven't read it yet, I've only read a cartoony children's bible when I just became Christian like, 6 years ago =S. But yes. I will start reading it. Actually I shall get myself a NIV bible with like a commentary or something! Music was insane. 13 songs! (they were all very cool.) I wasn't able to make it to some of the practices at Alan's due to interviews or just transport, so I basically either learned the songs during the camp in the little free time we got or made up chords =S. But the fact that some of us arrived early to practice really helped.
The best thing about it was I think the seminars. In particular, the Predestination seminar was intriguing. And I know this is said like at least 5 times at any ISCF function, but it was very good to see Child and Simon there, being non-Christians. K.thxhouseparty!
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Gotta Know it All.
I'm uncapped!
This is what I do when I'm uncapped. (I'll be so angry if I get capped again like, BEFORE HSC finishes)
umm, making this up as i go
I want to be the very best
That no one ever was,
To know it all is my real quest,
Understanding is my cause
I will travel across the libs, (actually its just Parralib)
Searching far and wide; (actually Parralib hsc fizzchem books are all taken atm)
Each dot point to understand,
The questions that arise
(Fizzandchem!)
Gotta know it all!
I know it's my destiny,
(Fizzandchem!)
Oh, you're my best friends,
Two days before thexams
(Fizzandchem!)
My understanding, it must be true
Past papers will get us through
You teach me and I'll learn you
Fizzandchemmmmm
Gotta know it all,
Gotta know it allll, yeahhhh
Every challenge along the way
Must never become a bore,
I will spam them everyday,
To claim that useful scoreee
So let's roll, the time is right
There are no later tests
Arm in arm, we'll win the fight,
Finally a time for rest!
(Chorus.)
Gotta know it all,
Gotta know it all
Fizzandchem!
(SORRY LOL)
Being uncapped is already taking its toll! lool

i'm getting there.
see i know my destination
and i'm getting there
through the streets.
(sorry if that sounded arrogant or something; i just use whatever i find to motivate myself)
ok so people doing 200h challenge and currently on around 50h, you need 11h per day now if you want 200h before english paper! GOGOGO. ok it sucks like crazy, but you'll be much more happy afterwards.
people doing more than 200, GLHF! less than 200? hahah thats no challenge!
jks.
but yeah
intensity of happiness afterwards = k (intensity of study) ^ 2 x 1000 times how long you remain happy for compared to how long you study for. good equation.
went to parra lib today (as usual. its like, my freaking second home now, i know all the librarians by face lol). brought my laptop, but was very sorry that this indirectly proved to be a massive massive distraction for eric.

just keep swimming
How are we doing?
I'm going to overtake Mikey.
BTW GUYS Parra library > everywhere else, except at 2pm-3pm.
I got FF12 (finally). It's quite GG.
PS
I'm really enjoying the weather. This is so... just right. Reminds me of `07 Victoria annual.
[Remember that?
Melbourne was for lan. There was an arcade with a Maccas that we invaded for lunch.
We stayed at Apollo Bay,
And went to the fish and chips shop and then stocked up on sweets at the IGA. That was when the weather was exactly like this, except with a more orange-red sky.
After the relaxing walk (greatest toilets ever - Patrick Ta).
Where the Man section Manned it Up, where the gupta section of Mike, VW, Eric and myself just gupta'd around (and played works -.- with the exception of myself), and where there was such a thing as a girls section,
We were driven to to Petersborough to look at the Twel-um, Eleven Apostles, and that collapsed arch, and shipwreck cave.
After which we disembarked at I think Warrambool? Where people (i.e. Patrick and myself) got owned for going off by ourselves when we were told to stick in groups of four), where the locals decided that throwing shoes at people was their way of saying welcome. Tian and crew went to some dodgy local fish and chips and got a bargain. The rest of us had a mass gathering at that KFC on the corner of Princes Highway for dinner. I got an Ultimate Burger Meal (which was $10 but had a bigger burger than today's meal), which I could only half finish LOL.]
!! VW Mike Eric Louizah Cath Tiff Patrick Ling Lil Cabbage Kelvin WHO HAVE I MISSED??
PPS
If you're Mikey and you're reading this, go study because imma overtake you like, tomorrow.
If you're Eric and you're reading this, get off the facebook lol. Actually, turn off the computer. And go study.

Wake up in the morning at 4.30AM feeling like JDN
Halo was on my start menu, so I wasted the whole afternoon!
So I'm going to sleep now and will
"Wake up in the morning at 4.30AM feeling like JDN"
tomorrow. And get back two hours of study before the time when I usually wake up.
And George Shen (!!!) was SO beast! :D:D:D

so many songs that we forgot to play
There are so many things I've never gotten around to doing, wthhh. Time contraction.
Anyway
spent the whole day doing applications; got zero hours of study done. so now im like, freaking 10 hours behind schedule for 200hours by 18/10. ill catch up dw. spent like two hours on co-op before realising that co-op for architecture isnt actually available in 2011. zzzzzzzzz this owns lol. i got my usyd personal statement done, though :D :D
ive been listening to music really loudly. partly because i didnt charge my mp3 from trials until a week ago to help me study, partly to find songs to keep me going. there are so many songs that i wanted us to play, sometime, before we leave. oh wellz. we've played some cool ones, and that was fun enough.
LOLBRIAN
i'm very sorry
but hahahahh thats sooooo freaking funny.
stay strong people! stay strongggggg

`Cos I've got this game I'd really like to play with you. Called HSC.
99.60 (aggregate 464.5). I'm quite happy with this (especially seeing as my last was 98.55 =S) ! And I bow to you, my friends, for sticking with me through the lows, such as that 50% in my chem prac.
Haahh, I regret not trying enough for 4uM in year 11. My 96 in 2uM scaled to 92(!!!), but in 4uM that's what, 98? 99? 6-7 aggregate difference! My mod ended up being counted for one unit (LOL), despite me watching Inception the day before the exam and making up sources the morning of the exam.
I asked Mrs B4rn3tt to do my reference, but she had to go into surgery. I asked Ms C0nn0rs what I should do, and she said she'd write it this weekend and send it to me for proofreading. I am sooo grateful, seeing as applications for scholarships are due on Monday. I'm not like, angry at Mrs B4rn3tt for not doing it yet; she had, after all, put off the surgery until after trials, and is a cool teacher.
So in maths today, I made a pact with VH that I would do 5 past papers for chem and fizz, and 10 for both 2uM and 3uM, before 18th October. And also a noober version of the 300 challenge with Eric. We're going to do 200 hours. Because 300 hours is just too crazy. Brian's going to do 225 hours, or I'm going to make him make the cupcakes for mod party hahah.
But yeah. We're on the runway now; we must pick up enough speed to take off before we reach the end!

EVER.
That was the most frustrating parade ever! Sorry people, I stuffed up so muchhhhhhhhhhhh=0=0=0 =S
So it started at me getting a bit angry at Bahaven for shouting at us year 12's in the shaded quad area ("if you aren't on parade, and aren't a CUO, then stand properly!"), when it was like 7.40am and the rest of the unit were just getting dress-inspected. I sort of turned my back on him and ignored him.
The parade was SO GOOD(!!!) on the oval! Like, if any juniors or year11's read this, that was a freaking good effort, thankyou!!!!!
But once we got to the hall, I forgot to hold onto the actual flag, so that while I was trying to grab it, my flagpole rammed into the roof and flagparty got laughed at =S Sorrysorryyyyy mybad.
We were the most out of sync than ever before, when we went up to put the flags down. That turn always confuses me. I mean, we were good this morning, on monday, and on last monday, and =S.
When we sat down, I realised that I forgot to give my USB with the powerpoint on it to the SNL people, so that must have looked bad. Grateful to the SNL people who, although being angry at me, did run through half the slideshow at breakneck speed. But it just feels like my 1.30am finish this morning was for nothing; no one could see any of the photos clearly.
When taking up the flags again, I forgot to salute. Because like, that's what I do. So Bernard had to remind me (thanks!) but that made me look even more fool.
The visiting officer was the most engaging visitor yet! I think he is a true inspiration to many of us.
So overall, my arm hurts and I feel crap.
But glhf to year 11's! The new CUO's are no less leet than ours.
Btw, year12cadets, some of us are planning to visit NZ again after HSC, as a post-cadet annual. Trekking and etc. I'm not sure about, seeing as we do not, this time, have experienced, mature people with us (unless we can somehow bribe one of the officers to come lol), but what say we take tours and stuff? Like on a touring coach or something. It's still in the embryo stage (the idea of a post-cadet annual), but many of us have mentioned it before, so yeah.
And year 12 cadets, I am very (verrrryyyyy) grateful to have been in cadets with you, some since I joined in 2007, some later on. You are quite the awesome *Salutes*.
The photos slideshow/powerpoint is ----->>>here<<<------. Much thanks, Jess, Edward Lo-Cao and Chi-Wai for fixing it up! (I couldn't work out how to make the transitions automatic on Office07.)

Unmoglich!
Currently tweaking photos for today's slideshow. +/- contrast, sharpness, etc.
I was trying to reply a text to eddie, and it took forever to write anthing because it wouldn't display the words I wanted (I use T9). I ended up ragequitting and writing a 2-word text. Then I realised that I still had my writing dictionary on German. LOL.
Gott sei dank, die Schule ist zu ende!!!!
Gott sei dank, der Wochenende ist hierrrr

ahhh ah ahh ah AAAHH ahhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... ahh Ahh AAHHHHHHHHHHH AHhh ah Ah ahhhhhhhh............................
I'd hate to be old. Okay, I'm scared at growing old. I mean, come on, you get freaking wrinkly and slow and etc.etc. And I'm even more scared at losing sight, or hearing, or something. And losing someone that I know. But all we can do is make do with what time we've got; so yeah.
_______________
I think I'm being really annoying and dog to AlanX. I'm sorry! Not everyone lives within walking distance to each others' houses; some people have a hard time getting to Hillsshire/Carlo on weekends! And we've got two weeks to pull together this song; and we all know our parts already. But I defs can go next Sunday.

I'm so unphotogenic.
( ^ as above).
So I like, dodge group photos and stuff when people decide to photo other people. And usually I dodge individual photos with even more fervor.
Picking up Jet and Bassic again after... hmm... a long time or something, I was really frustrated that I couldn't play anything smoothly anymore! Have to play more. And I found Capt.Alan's strap (which I borrowed for church service like, two terms ago) still on my bass, when I opened the guitar bag hahah. I should return it some time. Soon. Jet looks sooooooo bad atm; I've got to re-string it with new strings (the old ones have turned black! Like, BLACK! I think it's like aluminium oxide on the roundwound strings, and iron(2) oxide on the thin steel ones) (okay I'll stop talking chem).
I'm going to start working again; so I fished out my battered mp3 and charged it again. Because working without something to blow away all the noise in fizz and maths is like working while talking on 3 phones simultaneously. There's a million things I want to do; I'll use those as incentive to keep me going until after 04/11!

My keyboard is really unreliable.
My keyboard is, yeah, ridiculously unreliable. Sometimes when I press a key, it just doesn't register it -.- Which is good, I guess, as it makes me write out more stuff with pen and paper. It's good for English HSC ahhah.
Trial results are backz0rs. This is actually the best I've done in a set of exams, like, ever, so I'm quite happy with them. My mod was really good, which is like o0wtrandom LOL. Looks like Inception and Starcraft the day before exams really helps. Even when you literally did not prepare for the exam. Sorry mod people =S=S
Anyhowwwww.
RICE (was sort of bad)
Was 21st August. Actually so was voting. I spent like an hour waiting to vote, and ended up being late to tutoring, and it turns out that my tutor didn't vote because she hadn't registered and the AEC doesn't know hahah. I voted Greens, because I think both parties will have a negative impact, in different ways; with Greens I was at least sure that the environment would be a positive impact... And, both hopeful PMs weren't born in Australia! Isn't there like some law that restricts PM candidacy to only people born in Australia, to keep the country's interests first or something? Oh w/e.
So back to RICE.
I think that was the worst Rally I've been to! Wow the people were so immature and disrespectful, like, chucking so many glowsticks around (actually it was pretty cool to look at initially) ! Also, some items were cliched. Steve Chong's talk was really powerful, though (as it should be, being the centrepiece of the night :) ), and New Empire, the band that played before the event, were good. I don't know; it just doesn't feel nearly as awesome as it used to be. It sort of feels like a commercial rather than a spiritual gathering now =S (Gene is that what Alan was talking about?).
ANYWHOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooOoooOOoooOoo
I'm platinum league in SC2 !! :D I'm currently like ranked 93rd or something, because I've only played the 5 placement matches, not a single league match yet. Oh well. Terran's pretty imba.
So I've finally cleaned out my room (well, sort of) (okay, I've started cleaning my room). I ended up throwing away like this whole massive pile of sheets and papers. It felt so good. Okay. Can't wait till uni! Whatever I get.

Cadets.
Eddie: "BERNARD tell her that she's not fat!"
Bernard: "Okay. Hey Tiff YOU MAKE FAT PEOPLE LOOK ... "
LOLhahahh.
I like being flagparty. Means you can run around and do random things such as spend 30mins looking for Mr Mcf4dy3n and then realise that you forgot to check English staffroom. But being in polys for the whole day was SO cold, like I'd literally pass out for passing out -.-. No seriously, I think people are going to die at the 7.30am practice on the day and pass out.
So we're going to do a post-cadet annual yeah? YEAHHhhhh!?!? riiight?

We gon' find you.
I think that video Bravin linked people has gone and attached itself to EVERYONE's brain LOL. Somehow through 100 indirect referrals or something. I didn't realise until today when Murphy, Mike, Jeremy, Nik and stuff started randomly singing it at Romesh.
I can't wait `til schoolies. Like, seriously. Our (AlanX and I and maybe littlevictor and leslie) zX clan is going to fully destroy their MKGG (Michael Karthik Gounder Gounder, LOL) clan. In Halo AND sc. Probably not. But yeah, cant wait :D I realy dunno what we will do at Nelson Bay though, aside from beach and boating, it literally has a population of 3000, or something. But I think Murphy, Danny and stuff are figuring out cool things to do.
Our jerseys are like, the cool. I thought the design was really lame at first (sorry designer!), like, too much white, missing a yellow/green stripe vertically down the side or something, but it looks pretty cool now. I still think putting RUSE on the back is more dangerous and less child-protection-ey than nicknames, it's like an invitation to get shot or something zz. I don't really mind though. There's less than a month of school left; its kind of paradoxical, I think it`s too soon half the time, and think it`s plenty the other half. I've UAC'd, and applied at TISC and SATAC. Some interstate applications close at the end of August, so get those in quick people!
I hear people are going to play CS again; I SO want to join. Garena, anyone? And, oh yeah, since everyone else has a SC2 impressions blog post. I got SC2! THANKYOU PEOPLE. The amount of stuff I got still astounds me hahah. Like, the pen, 50 Physics Ideas book, Shantaram (book), ink for pen, SC2, etc... So much that I still feel really bad about it all, but really grateful :]. So SC2. I went on and got smashed by DrunkeNBoxeR (i.e. Murphy) hahah. I thought Marauders had the slow ability from the start, seeing it in videos, but apparently you have to reasearch it LOL. So his zealots obliterated all my marauders, and his stalkers the rest of my guys lol. But second game I sent reapers into his base and killed a bunch of his worker guys :D before he zealotted me again. (-.- ). Its a great game. I've only played Terran, and haven't even used banshees, the flying science-vessel things (ravens?), BC's and ghosts yet, even though I've played like 10 1v1's by now. I played the practice league thing, the guys there aren't very good =S. Like even I double their score every game zz.

The prodigal roommate returns.
- Charles, A Beautiful Mind.
Someday I'll stop being a chicken hahah. Someday. Hopefully that will not be the day that it's too late?
So trials are over for me. I was looking forward to this day since last month, but now that it's here, it doesn't seem all that great. Mainly due to English speech being due on monday. I mean, who the heck sets an assessment due right after trials. Like, heck.
I think trials went well for me. Barring mod, of course. I found out we needed sources 10 minutes before the exam, and went to the library to scavenge a few names of historians loool. But then again, mod doesn't count for me so :D
My cbox got randomly spammed by randoms; will revive it after working out how to delete random spam.

OMG
Good work, prefects 09/10!
And
Last week of being under 18 =S
Which I will, of course, spend studying. And I have tutoring on 09/07 -.-
Currently hooked on Robert Jordan's epic books. Love fantasy and scifi. More fantasy. And steampunk worlds are the best.
Happybirthday, to Kelvinat0r and KP. And Tiff, for tomorrow!
T2BIVLOG.
I didn't get to do much; Jeff was seco, but being bum party and bumming around with Cabbage was fun nevertheless. And there's this kid, Brendan - T2 was his first biv, and during NavEx he was lagging really hard due to blisters, but then when the Nav said there was around 500m's left until we got back to our nightloc he went running at the front of the section, and Cabbage and I were just like "o0WTH WEREN'T YOU DYING LIKE, THREE SECONDS BEFORE?!"
Our section is freaking beast at King of the Hill. Like, that was the best ambush I've ever been part of, when we owned Bahaven's section - I couldn't even detect where our section was, even though I was in the bush with them.
The guy (well, Derek and I, with a bit of help from the Guptas) made this epic hootchie, 6-sheet 6-man floating thing. It looked cool, but next morning it had snap frozen during the night and frost caked on it like a layer of cold icing -.- Which was arguably just as epic.
And the GORENG! Gupta people (Victor, Mike, Cabbage) brought like 5 packets of Mi Goreng each, and cooked them 5 packets at a time in Cabbage's super hotpot stove with Victor's pot hahah. Everyone was on GORENGcraze.
It was leet. Would have been superleet with all the year 12's though =S oh well
BERNARD ATE A FLAMING MARSHMALLOW. It was on fire. He ate one, then went "HEY GUYS watch me" and ate another one. GG

Never cheat the man in the mirror.
Guess what?
Yesterday, while I was bumming around Homebush before tutoring started,
I MET MR. KAY
(Summerhillians... remember...?)
Like, he was in the IGA and walking down the aisle, and I was walking up and just passed him, and I stopped and was like HEY WAIT A MIN.
Because he still looks the same, just way older, still got the nose, the hair, etc.
So I approached him and was like "... excuse me, but are you Mr. Kay?"
"Yes I am! And you are..."
"Peter."
"Oohhh and you now go to blahblah blahblah"
"blah"
"blahhhhh"
Anyway. I still remember his thingo, motto thing, "never cheat the man in the mirror". From year 5, when I was in 4/5K. (Yeah I was in a combined class with year 4, lol, but it was fun and fine.)
On a side note.
Exams are overrrrr

Heisenberg (probably) slept here.
There's a monkey in the jungle, watching a vapour trail, caught up in the conflict between his head and his tail.
So at Parra library today Kelvin brought this random book, Heisenberg (Probably) Slept Here, to our desk.
It was not until two hours after, while I was spamming fizzpapers, that the puns dawned on me LOL
Okay so Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. You all know that yeah? Delta p.c is inversely related to delta m etc.etc.
And Heisenberg was apparently a womaniser.
SOooooooo... yeah. Puns on two levels. Snimen-worthy hahah.
I'm really hungry. See you's

Wheeee maths.
Doing all those past papers really does help.
And bringing in a hundred sheets does not really help.
So Kelvin most probably owes me a drink now.
So
Back to work, going to do one 3u maths paper and finish my fizzresearch tonight, tomorrow I'll do a 3u maths paper and start chem, on sunday I'll do chem and 2 3u maths papers and start mod, Monday I'll start fizz and finish chem and start 3uE.
Cos I've got that piece of paper on the wall.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh
98.55
zzzzzzz!
Ok, so, I dropped 24 aggregate points in chem. From 97 (from 98?) in Prelim to 73. Which I had to count, because modern history scales like a... uh... something that doesnt scale well.
And so my net drop was 8 aggregate points.
Whhhhyyyyyyyyy
AND
I lost to Eric in sc, legit.
AND
When I was walking home
Suddenly this massive whattheheck wind blowed and sheets of rain fell and they totally annihilated my umbrella. So now I just got back home and I'm soaked in 50% of my body.

argh.
Looks like i have to either count a 84 or 81. At least 2 units with 80something unscaled.
I'll post up the verdict.
I'll post up the verdict.

And my super-duper back-up would be Secondary Education (Science).

Just an update
So
I've got a cadet lesson plan due yesterday, that
I should get a start on.
We have a modern history assignment due next wednesday. (Do on weekend)
And fizz is due in two weeks,
As is chem.
A 800-word 3uE response due this friday
At the latest.
And, of course, maths.
In other news, I was in a good mood all afternoon, having bought 3 Subway cookies. The realisation that I actually had missed the deadline for something shattered that like, like a warhammer. On like, a windscreen.
Plan for week. Pli's survival guide, T2W4B 1.0
Tonight: 30mins chem, msn, 30mins 3uE (200 words min), 30 mins maths, 1 game sc (no terran turtling) (if people are on garena), 30 mins mod
Wednesday morning: 30 mins maths, PAY FOR JERSEY
After P4: 40 mins UMAT, 30 mins sc, 30 mins 3uE (400), 20 mins UMAT, rest lesson
Night: 30 mins 3uE (700), 30 mins mod, lesson
Thursday mornig: 30 mins maths
Night: 30 mins 3uE (if needed), sleep
Friday morning: 30 mins maths
Arvo (if no Parra): 1 hour mod, sc time, 30 mins maths, 30 mins 2uE, sc time, 30 mins maths, 30 mins mod
Arvo (if Parra): 1 2U maths paper (45-55 mins), 30 mins maths, bum around, 30 mins 2uE, borrow mod books, stay up late 1 hour mod, sc time
Saturday morning: 30 mins maths, 30 mins mod, sc time, 1 hour mod

More
I hate how there are some things I keep from you now
But it's all good and paradoxical
Like everything else in our world.
It seems to me that everything good has a bad side, and vice versa. Triage - to save those people, paramedics will leave the others until last. Schools - they educate us, teaching us skills and values, and they dehumanise us just that little bit with institututionalisation and identification based on a sequence of digits.Even Hitler's extermination camps, manifestations of human evil, help us in bringing to light and really teaching us caution and tolerance - the intensity of the suffering gave the lesson its power.
(My legs hurt! Double lightsabers own, Space Marines are tank, I had cold pasta yesteerday for lunch and they will not control us, we will be victorious.)

Paradoxes
I have James' phone. I didn't bring my phone today, and so I was borrowing Simon's phone after school to tell James when I realised that I still had it.
"Hayyyy Simon can I use your phone?"
"Why?"
"I need to tell James that I have his...
Wait...
Nevermind."
Seeing as he can't really pick up his phone as I had it. gglol
Today must have been such a screwed-up day for Romesh. Being happy but being forced to super-lie.
Happy with fizz results, nervous about chem results which haven't come back. Maths... was dissapointing, I'll try hader next time - average for 2U, slightly above average for 3U. VH beat me in 3U =S
These tests were the first set of exams where I actually "scabbed marks". Because taking a mark off because I apparently didn't write something when I did is sort of weird. And taking two marks off me for the same mistake that they took one mark off someone else is also sort of weird. Oh well. Still aiming for state rankings in fizz! I'll need luck and lots of work.
Now
Cadets!
This time it was super tiring. To be honest I half didn't want to be in Anzac parade, but that wouldn't be good. The drum corps were slightly dodgy. But seeing as they were junior kids, they did quite a good job (Y). The colonel guy is (Y)(Y)(Y) - he didn't walk around all the ranks, and actually gave us praise.
MR CHANDRA HANDA HAS LEFT
I'm actually quite sad. Romesh would be jumping. Nik would be swearing.
I'm not saying he's a flawless teacher - he's, to be frank, quite unpredictable and hiprocritical with the flamings and the late marking, and the sometimes confusing marking.
But, that aside,
You can't deny that he is an awesome teacher. For me, he's taught me to analyse in depth and even enjoy essay writing somewhat when I have my own argument to convey. I guess the most memorable part of him was inspiration, in that sense.
Well Miss Barnette has quite a large pair of polished, black leather shoes to fill. The iconic man of ultimatum.

Timeless?
"Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name"
"Because you love me, I will rescue you. I will protect you because you know my name."

Myers-Briggs
So I had this, shall I say, quite eventful conversation on the bus home from SUPERFUNHAPPYTUESDAY@macq, with none other than the great evil mastermind, Henry Su. Actually not a great evil mastermind, but an undetectible evil force Henry Su.
We were talking about the movie How To Train Your Dragon, and somehow it got to an argument that raged over the battlefields of such topics, starting with a discussion of what is considred good and what is bad.
Firstly, if Henry assassinated someone important, such as Einstein, would he have done a good thing? From a logical and Henry point of view he would have saved around 200,000 people from instant death or leukemia by eliminating the Nagasaki and Hiroshima devastation. However how many more people would he have condemned to death by removing the primary means of producing radioisotopes for use in medicine to detect cancers etc (yes, freaking POM chem lol), the nuclear reactor, by delaying scientific progress?
Then, to him, it would be to the benefit of mankind if we removed or did not bother about all the poverty-striken, the chronically or terminally sick, the disadvantaged. It would increase living standards for everyone else significantly. Genetic disorders would all but perish, millions gone into foreign aid and charity can be instead used to boost the healthy economies, corrupt and dysfunctional governments would collapse. He woud rather, in his words, "give a hundred dollars to one person than split it among a hundred people". However in my view, the opportunity cost of that would be enormous- that is, what, at least 30% of the world's population gone. Take for example Nikola Tesla, who came from a Croatian (formerly Imperial Austrian) village with a population of around 400, who went on to change the world; or even e.g. Tsiolkovsky, without whose multi-stage rockets our understandign of space, gravity, etc. would be agreatly hindered (too much physics); or even Obama, whose peternal grandfather was even imprisoned and tortured - all of whom that would have been not given a chance to change the world if we simply ignored them and "lived and let die". Besides, it is just not right to not offer help. Humans are a social being, and this is, in my view, the main reason for our success as a species- we rely upon each other. But does not that priviledge also come with a responsibility to look after our fellow humans? It is just not a good thing to do.
Then what is a good thing? What makes a good person not a bad person? Henry argues that we are all bad people in that we either would help others, but only if we would not be compromised ourselves to a large extent, or we will simply ignore others - in essence, we are self-centered. All the "good" things, all the beneficial things to society (as we settled on our definition of a "good" thing), were done out of self-interest, for example to advance in one's career or to gain publicity. I disagree with that in that the world cannot be such a programmed, unfeeling, Matrix-style place that all actions are calculated - humans will certainly do things out of sympathy, go out of their way for love, self-sacrifice so that others may live happier lives. For ancient history people, Leonidas did not die for glory, his main motive was to buy time for the Greeks to assemble to meet the Persian army. For the modern historians, Mandela and Ghandi certainly endure their hardships so that they may have the chance to become famous. Even the fact that society is built such that, outside of crime, to advance an individual's standing in the world will require them to first advance society as a whole, whether it be through leadership, economics, science, or simply labour.
We both agree that no one is purely good - of course we all have "[our] own vampire, [our] own spirit let loose from the grave" in us, as Shelley (too much English!) points out, and the Bible reminds us. As Atwood says, we can almost use a grid, where there are those who do "good things for good reasons", "good things for bad reasons", "bad things for good reasons" and "bad things for bad reasons", and I agree with her in that the truly bad person is the lattermost of the four. While no one is perfect, the only "bad" people are those who do detrimental things to society (e.g. assassination, crime, enforce corrupt economic policies, cheat on partners), only out of selfishness, I believe is the only "bad" reason to do something.
Therefore while I cannot find logical faults with Henry's Malthusian perception of good and evil, I feel that it is often ethically and morally wrong, (and we Bladenstein/Frankenrunner people know all about moral responsibility, lol), but some of it does make sense.

YOU ARE A q/m = g/E.
What the heck, who would have thought of mg?! I pretended that I was J.J. Thompson and tried deriving first v=E/B then q/m using (1/2)mv^2 and qE
But then I had leftover B's which wouldn't go away

So I like, totally, like, what's it called, S2 essays?
Currently running on a banana, some watermelon, half a pack of liquorice, and two and a half GLASSES of ice tea. Some significant sugar intake. Because I wrote out my essay twice today. And it took like 1 hour each time. o0 HALP : /
Um
Yeah
Blogging is stress-relieving.
I cleaned my red Swiss army knife with hot water, but there's still guck from annual in it. zz.
I lost two and a half marks in both 2U and 3U maths5 tests. And two and a half out of two and a half marks lost were because I forgot to cancel pi over pi, wrote a -ve sign for no reason, forgot to divide by 2, stupid stuff like that. zzz.
The new people who frequent Blacktown Library are freaking loud, and I hope we get an interview question.S
PARADISE LOST - SYMPHONY X
In the cold misty morning
Gleaming rays awake the dawn
Here I stand, a stranger in this land
Does your conscience betray you?
Falling from grace
Feel the sun on my face
Does desire still hold true?
Mystified by her beauty
Does the hunter pity his pray
Under starless skies
All love must die and fade away
Take my hand, divine or damned
Make a stand, seize the day
Oh, yours or mine, damned of divine
Draw the line, come what may
Looking down from ethereal skies
Solid crystal in tears I cry
For all must say their last goodbye
To Paradise...
My yearning is silenced by angelic skin of white
Love conquers all though heaven's fall
This fateful night
Oh, yours or mine, damned of divine
Draw the line, serpentine
Love is a tragedy
All that I have, all that I'll ever need
Is right here inside
Let the winds of freedom be my guide
Looking down from ethereal skies
Solid crystal in tears I cry
For all must say their last goodbye
To Paradise...
Looking down from ethereal skies
Solid crystal in tears I cry
For all must say their last goodbye
To Paradise...
Say goodbye, goodbye, horror.
(solo)
So I've cheated and I've lied
Been the victim of foolish pride
And I've begged and I've crawled
And I've battled it and bled for it all
Now I'll savor the downfall
Of Paradise..
(x3)
Looking down from ethereal skies
Solid crystal in tears I cry
For all will say their last goodbye

1. What did the frog leg say to Galvani?
[brought about by Nik listening to Electric Feel - MGMT (love that song lol) ]
Wait for it
Wait
"Ooh, GAL, you SHAWK me liek an electric feel"
2. What's orange and sounds like "parrot" ????!?!? (Victor Wong)
No
It's not that obvious.
I'm serious.
It's actually

Carrot.
3. A brown bear and a polar bear jump into the water. Which one gets out? (Chem tutor)
Lol.
Brown bear gets out, of course. The intermolecular forces (dipole-dipole interactions) between the polar bear and the polar H2O molecules means that the polar bear freaking dissolves.
4. (a) "Frankenstein is a frank reminder of ....."
(b) "Blade Runner offers a sharp critique of..." (Simon)

Brown bear gets out, of course. The intermolecular forces (dipole-dipole interactions) between the polar bear and the polar H2O molecules means that the polar bear freaking dissolves.

ZOMG
WHAT THE F**k THAT'S SO SCREWED UP!
I want to drop English!
Was there nothing that was good about it!?!?!!!!
And if it was so bad, why couldn't you have told me two weeks earlier, like you told everyone else!?!??!???
WHAT THE FUNDAMENTAL HELL!?
There was nothing good about ALL the time and ALL the work I put into it?! And I thought I had a good essay and that I was at least not going to feel much dissapointment with my English exam!

journal
Blog = surrogate electronic diary
Because my diary from year eight lasted around a month before I got sick of it.

I love creative writing. If only English was more focused on creative writing rather than analysing other peoples' creative pieces. It appears to me that creative powers trump my analytical powers. Creation involves the synthesis and integration of many aspects of your consciousness and subconsciousness, while analysis involves tearing that apart. So what the heck?
Words were meant to have meaning, to convey information, but more importantly, emotion. It is rather difficult to write an emotional, passionate essay, when you don't care much for the text or the author, who was most likely dead a few hundred years ago. But writing creatively allows you to express yourself, who you are, how you feel, even who you want to become.
But if creative wrting is a bit too much to ask for, then speeches, scripts, feature articles, almost any text type would be preferable to an essay, where the structure, style and even content has been pre-determined.
Anyway.
Building expansions the other player doesn't know about, while having them mass up units outside your choke is an incredibly funny strategy. They will keep reinforcing their blockade of your "base" to contain you and stop you expanding, while you build up your other bases. So as soon as they have massed enough and go in for the kill, you send your units right into their undefended base. Good fun.

Speeches
Oh my gosh.
I spend 100 million hours painting my visual. Like, I ruined a shirt painting it in oil, because oil takes 100 million hours to dry. But that only happened because the last time I painted was like, freaking half a year ago, lol.
Then on thursday morning I see someone on a school comp, using paint to create their visual. Which will probably get the same mark as mine because they will incorporate it well.
Oh your gosh.
So anyway
BEAST people included WALLACE (!), Karen, Louizah.
We've gotten through 20+ people with the speeches so far. There's two left in my class. Or three. Can't remember. I know Jayani has to go next, then me.
So now I'm going to worry all weekend about speeches instead of doing past papers. zz.
I must not get sick, but I think I'm already sick. Which sort of defeats the point but whatever.
I still have Runescape as my fourth bookmark tab in my firefox. Brendon, Edi(noob), Louizah, MC^T... RS sometime?!?!?

Peterkertapati: "Starcraft is rated G... G"
LOL.
So anyway, I've got set RC3 from Coroneus, Exercises 8A, 8C, 8E to do before Monday for bookmark. And we got 8A, 8C, 8E today.
Then I have to make sure my Module A essay is purrrrrr-fect like it's a prefect.
And I have to interview my friend for Belonging.
And on top of that, write my 3U essay and get an idea for my 3U short story.
o.0 halp.
lol.
Dw, guys, lets keep owning.

You must construct additional... Starcraft.
Hmm.
I'm really enjoying the SC tournament, and I must congratulate Cabbage in filling up like half the lecture theatre every time. Except for today. I'm loving the ridiculous amount of hype that John's lifting of a rax caused, and the generally imba amount of audience involvement.
And, also, John better win.
Or I will eat him. Although it may be okay if he loses to Murphy.
I was about to say something, but I sort of forgot.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Okay I've created a somewhat compromised state of blogging between my old, incredibly abrupt and nonsensical blogs and a renewed attempt at making my blogs somewhat comprehensible.
So yeah.
OH. Wait this isn't actually the thing I wanted to say, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow's church service and especially the beast of a song, Indescribable.Yes, and hopefully Bassic doesn't go out of batteries. Or anything random like that.
Hm.
I think that this is it, really. Until I remember what I was originally going to say.

GONG XI FA CAI, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR('s eve's eve)
Let's strive to ignite all the souls that would die just to feel alive.
Okay, I have something to say. You know guitars? (I'm assuming yes, to some extent or another). Well, I don't really like them anymore. No, not that I don't want to play anymore, its just that they seem rather limited in their, shall I say, colour. Now there's just so much out there that basically eclipse the guitar. The cool dude with sunglasses and a bass guitar is, in my eyes, 1/sinx as x-->0+ times cooler than the fat, oily, long lice-infested-haired, dry-throated, sweaty man with a deadly-sharp looking axetar. The guitar just doesn't have that groove of the bass. Moreover, it lacks in musical colour (not being an Andy musician, that's what I'll call that experience of listening to music), that seems to ooze out of violins and pianos. It doesn't have that ability to evoke emotions of sadness, joy, melancholy, that violins and pianos deliver - it delivers, in essence, anger, anger, angst, and excitement. And unplugged and unwired, it delivers anger, sadness, and that mental state called groove, to a somewhat lesser extent than the bass. Besides, it's got nothing on the sheer ridiculous ownageness of the xylophone.
Maybe I'm just not looking into guitars in depth - Santana has nothing if not colour, Slash is certainly lively, Satriani is fun, and Hendrix is freaking groovy - but listen to pop, rock, even metal, and the guitar sounds like a piece of dry wood. However great, it seems that guitars have got nothing on the sheer colour of a full orchestra, or even a single pianist.
Which is why I want to bass instead of lead, and which is why I sort of want to be able to play violin and piano like I'm some Andy or something.
On another note, DTs on Top was stuck in my head for like the past week, before the prefects showed it. Hahaha.

Quite the Quoyle
So during 3-unit Chandra, we had a substitute teacher, and the very hilarious thing is that someone who got into trouble with her, I was very surprised to see, said that they were actually someone else when asked for a name by the teacher. Now this is highly amusing on quite a few levels:
-The person has never said a word to me and offered my name as a substitute for theirs.
- Now anyone who knows that I have Mr. Chandra Handa for both 2-unit and 3-unit English will usually have better notions than picking my name, out of all others,
- And thirdly, I half-wanted to say nothing and wait until Mr. Chandra Handa confronts me
The incident grinds down to this: as someone new to this school, isn't it a little unwise to use someone you know absolutely nothing about - nothing about who are friends with him, nothing about his character and hence his likely courses of action, nothing - as a scapegoat, in such a closely knit school? With a teacher, who values, above all else, honesty?
Something I really like about having Ms Briggs for maths: today's homework consisted of TWO (2) compound interest-type questions. So of course I am going to do the whole exercise, but that was just awesome.

Radiohead spread
Does anyone else find it ironic that the music video to Radiohead's "Creep" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFkzRNyygfk) features the lead singer singing about being "a creep, a weirdo", in a lively club with colourful artificial lights, and the audience jumping, raving and generally moshing to this?
Anyway, I'm thinking about using the music video to Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees" (1995) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKd06s1LNik) for extension 1. I wonder what the Ultimate One would say. I think it works well as a related text to The Shipping News, in that it almost shows the alternative side to Quoyle's story - the emotional artificiality of losing touch with what really matters; the direction Quoyle was heading towards before moving to Newfoundland.

Our year
Our final year of high school starts in a few days.
I still find it rather hard to realise that this is our year, 2010. These holidays have been so... relaxed, for me. And that probably means I had not studied enough (=S).
Something the all-powerful Alan Ng may appreciate is the hugely different "feels" of a bass and a normal guitar. Having learnt the bass to numerous Muse songs (time that might have been better invested in a maths paper), putting down Bassic and picking up Jet again created an enormous mental sigh of relief. A normal guitar is so much easier to play than a bass!
Anyway, I have discovered over the last few years an increasing number of Facebook Groups, Youtube content, and forum talk more or less advocating that Ruse sucks. However, the fact that very few Rusians take the effort to contradict them is extremely satisfying. Let them taunt and insult, and in return let us beat them more spectacularly. Personally, the slander serves as a minor source of motivation.
This is our year.
We were not born with slower minds than others, so nothing should bar our way to, well, owning.

On needles.
Today, I had the misfortune to fall victim to the dreaded vaccination needle. =S
Now normally this would not be that much of an issue, however the memory of my last needles- the simultaneous jab in both shoulders while the nurse said "now just relax, this would not hurt a bit" is still fresh in my mind.
So all in all, I would much rather climb Mount Maria again rather than have another needle.

Can I wish you a good morning?
Greetings, one and all! (More likely one)
